Fourstardave Features Top Turf Milers

The Fourstardave Handicap will be run this Saturday at Saratoga Race Course for the 30th time. Top turf horses including Silver Max, winner of the 2013 Shadwell Turf Mile, Jack Milton, victorious in the Poker Stakes at Belmont, and Seek Again, runner-up to Wise Dan in the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic, are expected to line up for the one mile race on the inner turf course. A $500,000 purse is up for grabs in the Grade 2 race.
The race is named for Fourstardave, the "Sultan of Saratoga" who won at least one race at the track each year from 1987 to 1994. The gelding retired from racing in 1995 with 21 wins, 18 seconds and 16 thirds from 100 starts.
