The Washington Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association's summer yearling and mixed sale will be held Aug. 26, the Tuesday after the Longacres Mile (gr. III), at the Morris J. Alhadeff Sales Pavilion located at Emerald Downs in Auburn, Wash.
This year's catalog is highlighted by 106 summer yearlings, representing top regional and national stallions and many of the best female families throughout North America.
The WTBOA Sales Incentive Program, now in its fourth season, has proven popular with owners running their sales purchases at Emerald Downs. So far, a dozen $1,000 bonuses have been awarded to 2-year-old WTBOA sale graduates.
The WTBOA notes that this year the new Emerald "Buy Here/Win Here" Bonus Program begins. Bonuses will be paid to qualifying summer session yearlings that break their maiden at Emerald Downs.
This bonus will be for qualifying horses of any age and at any level. The bonus will be split, 50% to the consignor and 50% to the owner. The consignor is the registered owner(s) as listed on the WTBOA summer sale yearling session contract. The owner will be the person who owns the qualifying horse at the time that it breaks its maiden.
