The National Thoroughbred Racing Association, the NTRA Advantage group purchasing program, and Nationwide Insurance announced Aug. 7 that they have entered into a marketing agreement.
The partnership will offer discounted rates to the horse industry via the NTRA Advantage program, including insurance coverage for areas most relevant to NTRA members, such as auto, home, pets, power sports (boats, RVs, ATVs, motorcycles, etc.), life, and health.
"The NTRA has researched insurance rates across a variety of industry segments and concluded that Nationwide consistently offers the best value," said NTRA president and CEO Alex Waldrop. "We are delighted to partner with a company known for its strong brand recognition and high level of consumer trust."
The NTRA will work with member and affiliate horse owner and breeder groups, racetrack employees, veterinarians and other industry participants to promote the partnership.
"At Nationwide, we put our members first and have an appreciation for organizations like the NTRA that are aligned with these values," said Kurt Ely, vice president of strategic partnerships at Nationwide, in a release. "We're proud to partner with the NTRA to provide insurance products and services that meet the needs of its members and support their unique interests."
"The NTRA and NTRA Advantage continue to partner with organizations that offer value to all segments of the equine industry," said NTRA senior vice president Bryan Pettigrew. "This deal makes Nationwide Insurance products available at very competitive rates to thousands of horse industry participants across the United States. Without the broad reach of NTRA Advantage's marketing, advertising, publicity, and social media programs, this valuable partnership would not have been possible."
