This Saturday, Oct. 21, marks the 32nd running of the Jim McKay Maryland Million. A highlight of the fall racing season in the Mid-Atlantic, the day showcases Maryland-breds of all divisions. This edition of Million day will be slightly more somber than those before it, with the absence of Ben’s Cat, a fixture on Maryland Million day for the better part of a decade. Ben’s Cat, otherwise known as Ben, was a nearly black gelding by Parker’s Storm Cat who took part in seven consecutive Maryland Million days.
