Tommy Town Thoroughbreds' grade 1 winner It Tiz Well will miss the Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1), trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said Oct. 27.
The Hall of Fame trainer indicated he did not like the way the 3-year-oldĀ Arch filly came out of her six-furlong work Oct. 25 at Santa Anita Park, and said she had "tenderness" in her feet.
"I wasn't 100% happy with the way she came out of the work," Hollendorfer said of the last-out Cotillion Stakes (G1) winner. "If she's not 100%, I'm not going to run."
As for the rest of the season for It Tiz Well, Hollendorfer said the filly will get some time off but will remain at Santa Anita for the time being.
"We'll back off a little bit at the track and look for another race," Hollendorfer said.
The Cotillion Sept. 23 at Parx Racing was It Tiz Well's breakthrough performance in 2017, but she's been a consistent performer for much of the year. Her only off-the-board finish came in the June 17 Summertime Oaks (G2).
