When I first moved to Las Vegas 20 years ago, I began listening to a sports handicapping radio show called the “Stardust Line.” It was on a 50,000-watt station out of Las Vegas so at night it could be heard throughout the Western states.
The Stardust was a famous Strip casino that has long since been torn down. It had the most progressive race and sports books at the time. They believed that if bettors had more information than they would bet higher amounts and hopefully win more often. They even built a library room which had all kinds of current horse and sports data.
