Collected

Speedway Stable LLC's Collected heads a contingent of 25 OBS graduates entered in the 2017 Breeders' Cup, set for Friday and Saturday, November 3-4 at Del Mar.

Collected comes into Saturday's $6-million Breeders' Classic (G1) off a wire-to-wire victory over champion Arrogate in the $1-million Pacific Classic (G1) over the same Del Mar surface and at the same mile and a quarter distance. The Pacific Classic was the fifth graded stakes win for the 4-year-old son of City Zip, four for four this year with three graded stakes victories. He's now 11-8-1-0 and has earned $1,260,500 to date. Trained by Bob Baffert, he will again be ridden by Martin Garcia. Consigned by SGV Thoroughbreds (Steven Venosa), Agent, to the 2015 OBS March Sale, he was purchased for $170,000 by Speedway Stable after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5

Collected will be joined in the gate by Loooch Racing Stables, Inc., Glenn K. Ellis and Imaginary Stables' War Story, a millionaire in his own right and winner of Belmont's $400,000 Brooklyn Invitational Stakes (G2) on June 10. He'll be ridden by Jose Ortiz for trainer Jorge Navarro. The 5-year-old gelding by Northern Afleet, now 23-5-3-3 with $1,284,305 in earnings, was consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, to the 2014 OBS March Sale, where he worked an eighth in :10 4/5 at the Under Tack Show.
