Handicappers and fans salivate over the world-class racing at Saratoga Race Course, but the numerous food options around the track will also make you drool. The variety of smells coming from the food trucks and ovens add more flavor to the action that's already heating up on track.
From the burgers at Shake Shack to the pizza at Pies On Wheels and everything in between, there's something at Saratoga that will satisfy everyone. One of my personal favorites is the pulled pork and mac and cheese trucks that are scattered throughout the track.
It’s a mouth watering combination that comes in a cup with mac and cheese tucked under the pulled pork. If you don’t want the two together, you can always order each item separately. There are plenty of parents around the track making stop after stop at this truck for their kids who crave mac and cheese.
If you’re looking for a good spot to overlook the track and have a nice meal, you can also sit and eat at the Turf Terrace, Club Terrace, or on the Porch in the Clubhouse. Breakfast on the Porch is one of the most scenic experiences at the track.
BREAKFAST ON THE PORCH
Not only do you treat yourself to a great meal to start the day, but you also get to take in the sunrise as the Thoroughbreds work out on the main track. The races are thrilling, but there's something so peaceful about sipping your morning cup of coffee and watching the horses stroll by before their big moment in the afternoon.
The smells, the flavors, the food. It's all a part of what makes Saratoga so incredibly special.
