Although he has not won a race in six starts this season, Flamboyant appears to have returned to top form and looks like the horse to beat in the $200,000 Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes (G2T) Nov. 24 at Del Mar.

David Bienstock and Charles Winner's Flamboyant earned a grade 1 placing in his previous effort when he finished third to Bullards Alley in the Oct. 15 Pattison Canadian International Stakes (G1T) at Woodbine. That marked the second time in his career the 6-year-old Peer Gynt gelding earned a top-level placing.

While Flamboyant finished 11 1/4 lengths behind the Canadian International winner, he did earn his best Equibase Speed Figure—117—since opening 2016 with an upset victory in the San Gabriel Stakes (G2T) at Santa Anita Park. Just more than a month later, he followed that January 2016 effort with another grade 2 victory on the Santa Anita turf, the San Marcos Stakes.

Since that second straight grade 2 win, 11 losses have followed—a stretch that includes a third-place finish in last year's Hollywood Turf Cup. Flamboyant earned placings in three of his past four starts, all graded stakes, for trainer Patrick Gallagher. He enters Friday's 1 1/2-mile turf test, which will be offered as race seven on the card, with nearly $900,000 in earnings in an impressive 30 career races in the United States, Canada, Dubai, and France.

Flamboyant drew post 3 among nine entered.

Jack Swain homebred multiple graded placed filly Lottie is entered in both the Hollywood Turf Cup against males and the Nov. 23 Red Carpet Handicap (G3T) at Del Mar, where she drew the outside post among 14 fillies and mares entered.
