Veteran Jockey Hebert Secures 4,000th Career Win

Jockey Tracy Hebert guided Rational Decision to a front-running, 4 1/4-length score in the fourth race Nov. 28 at Zia Park to earn the 4,000th victory of his career.

The veteran jockey, who has competed throughout the country, became the 72nd North American-based jockey to win 4,000 races.

In posting the milestone win, Hebert and J. Kirk and Judy Robison's Rational Decision drew off in the stretch, completing the 5 1/2-furlong claiming race in 1:05.93. Rational Decision is trained by Henry Dominguez.

Hebert's graded stakes winners include Silent Pleasure in the 2007 Texas Mile Stakes (G3) at Lone Star Park, Niner's Home in the 1995 Arlington Heights Oaks (G3) at Arlington International Racecourse, and First and Only in the 1994 Fort Harrod Stakes (G3T) at Keeneland.

Hebert, who has raced in five different decades, reached the 4,000-win milestone in the 27,665th mount of his career. His horses have earned nearly $54.5 million. Hebert is enjoying a solid season this year, with 105 wins from 578 starts and purse earnings of nearly $2.2 million.
