Skeedattle Associates' Done Acting became the first winner for his sire Done Talking when he narrowly scored by a nose in a $22,726 maiden claiming event at Laurel Park Dec. 3.

The Hamilton Smith trainee stumbled in the first few strides under jockey Jomar Torres in the 1 1/16-mile race, , but recovered to stalk the pace from fourth and then third. In the stretch, Done Acting was still third, three lengths off leader Thank You So Much, but was able to angle out and pull alongside the leader to grind out a victory. The final time was 1:49.44 over the fast track.

The win was the first in five starts for Done Acting, who was bred in South Carolina by Franklin Smith and is the first foal out of the winning Purim mare Theatricality.

Done Talking, a Skeedattle Associates homebred, won three races and placed three times in 15 starts, earning $401,910. At 2 he finished a close fourth in the 2011 Remsen Stakes (G2). The next year he qualified for a start in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) after scoring in the Illinois Derby (G3).

The 8-year-old son of Broken Vow  is out of the grade 3-winning Dixieland Band mare Dixie Talking and is a half brother to two other stakes winners. He entered stud in 2014 at Elloree Training Center near Elloree, S.C., where he stands for a fee of $1,500.
