Big Blue sold for AU$102,000 to Maher Bloodstock at the William Inglis & Son December Thoroughbred sale

An outstanding draft of racing stock presented by Godolphin resulted in a perfect clearance rate, highlighted by the top-priced lot at a successful William Inglis & Son December Thoroughbred sale Dec. 8 near Melbourne, Australia.

Former European stayer Big Blue sold for AU$102,000 (US$76,787) to Maher Bloodstock, one of four horses to reach six figures. A 5-year-old gelded son of Galileo (IRE), Big Blue won the Prix Michel Houyvet and placed in three group races in France before being relocated to Australia.

Other Lots to realize AU$100,000 ($75,282) were the geldings Demonstrate and Foundation and the mare Soiree.

Godolphin was one of 20 vendors to enjoy a perfect clearance rate at the mixed sale, ensuring the sale's overall clearance rate was a very pleasing 90%.

The December sale was the last Inglis sale for the year, and capped off a very successful year for Inglis, Australia's leading Thoroughbred auctioneer.
