Rosie Napravnik, fifth-leading jockey in North America by earnings in 2013, rode five winners Sept. 18 on the 13-race card at Kentucky Downs to emerge as the leading rider at the all-turf meet in Franklin, Ky.

"That was fun," Napravnik said of her performance at the undulating and uniquely configured 1 5/16-mile course.

Napravnik said that as a youngster she rode horses on the steeplechase circuit over courses that resembled the one at Kentucky Downs, albeit with hurdles.

"It reminds me of when I was a kid," said Napravnik, who has seven wins during the first four days of the five-day meet.

Napravnik said it took her a few trips around the course to understand its unique features.

"I love it," she said, adding later, "There's a dynamic here that takes some time to learn."

Also on the Sept. 18 card, Golden Soul, who finished second to Orb in this year's Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), made his turf debut in the 11th race, finishing ninth as the 2-1 favorite in the 12-horse field that contested the 1 1/2-mile test .

With three races added to the Sept. 18 card to make up for a weather-related disruption Sept. 11, Kentucky Downs had record all-source handle of $2,982,294.

The meet concludes Sept. 25 with another 13-race program.
