Description:
International traveler Wigmore Hall, a two-time grade I winner in North America, was euthanized Sept. 13 after sustaining an injury in a race at Doncaster on the Ladbrokes St. Leger (Eng-I) undercard.

Trained in Great Briatin by Michael Bell, the 7-year-old High Chaparral gelding raced in seven countries and scored wins in England, Dubai, and in Canada, where he won back-to-back editions of the Northern Dancer Turf Stakes (Can-IT) at Woodbine in 2011 and 2012. He also finished second in the 2010 Secretartiat Stakes (gr. IT) at Arlington International Racecourse

Overall, Wigmore Hall posted a 7-6-5 record from 42 career starts and earned $2,099,316 for owner Mark Hawtin.

"He will leave a huge hole," Bell told Racing Post. "We'd had him since he was a yearling and (he) has given everybody involved with him an enormous amount of fun. It is very tough for all concerned."

The Irish-bred was produced by winning Theatrical mare Love and Laughter.
