First Reported Winner for Pleasant Strike

Graciela Mia uncorked a furious stretch rally Sept. 13 at La Rinconada racetrack in Venezuela and captured the Clasico Lanzarina to become the first winner for Florida-based stallion Pleasant Strike  .
 
The 2-year-old Venezuelan-bred filly wore down the front-runner nearing the finish line and scored by a half-length. She covered 1,200 meters (about six furlongs) in 1:14 1/5. The race is a group III event in Venezuela. 
 
Graciela Mia was produced by the placed Langfuhr   mare Crafty Diane.
 
A 10-year-old son of Smart Strike   out of the Pleasant Colony mare Colonella, Pleasant Strike stands in Ocala, Fla., at Northwest Stud, where he commanded a $2,500 fee in 2014. He joined the Northwest Stud roster in 2012.
 
Pleasant Strike posted a 6-7-7 record from 36 career starts that includes a victory in the 2007 Arlington Classic Stakes (gr. IIIT). He won or placed in 10 other stakes, including four other graded stakes, and amassed a lifetime bankroll of $455,203 during six seasons of racing.
