The Pennsylvania Derby is coming up this weekend, and it’s going to be a huge, fun race since Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes hero California Chrome will run in it in his first race back after June’s Belmont Stakes. Don't forget - you can catch the livestream here at americasbestracing.net starting at 4:30 ET for free! I’ve put together four looks that will take you to Parx Racing on what promises to be a beautiful late-summer/early fall day just outside of Philadelphia.

I checked the weather for Saturday, and the forecast calls for sun and temperatures in the low-to-mid-70s. That makes it a perfect time to break out some of your favorite fall staples and color without having to get completely bundled up. I love this olive dress from Black Five for $33; it actually comes with a black belt, but I favored this cognac-colored one from ASOS for $4.84 with the olive dress. (I feel like pairing black and olive can take “military chic” to a too-literal place if one’s not really careful.) I added a pair of Wet Seal tall flat boots for $40 and a $15 K Store USA polka-dot scarf for a fun splash of color. Throw on a pretty $25 Sole Society bangle, a $50 London Fog handbag and a $15 pair of PacSun aviators and you’re raceday-ready for just $182.84.

The next look incorporates the colors of California Chrome’s purple and green silks without making you look like a walking billboard. I love this asymmetrical dress from Patagonia for $89; accessorize with a pair of chandelier earrings ($25, Metro Park USA) and a set of watercolor metal bangles for $35 from Priya Kakkar. Add a fabulous green satchel for just $38 from Yes Style and a pair of neutral color shoes (I have Maiden Lane pumps for $25 and City Classified flats for $35; take your pick!) and then top everything off with a pair of statement shades for $9.99 from Necessary Clothing. The entire look comes to either $231.99 or $221.99 depending on whether you choose the flats or pumps, respectively.

Our next look is a little more casual but still sophisticated enough for a great day at the races. I love the fall for letting us break out some colored jeans; this rust-hued pair is $25 from Current/Elliott. I added a $30 flow-y blouse from Mango, a deep chocolate handbag from ModCloth for $50, and an adorable pair of flats for just $30 from Delia*s. To accessorize, the pendant necklace is $30 from Sole Society, the “boyfriend watch” is $20 from Charlotte Russe and the oversize sunglasses are Anais Gvani for $41. All together, this ensemble is $226 from top to bottom. The best part? If you like Bayern’s chances in the Pennsylvania Derby, you’re definitely representing! His silks are red, white and blue.

Our final Pennsylvania Derby look has a little more edge to it. I love the color combination of gray and crimson, so this $30 blouse from BooHoo (worn buttoned up and tucked in, please!) is a natural fit. I added a hammered silver Peter Pan collar for $28 from Need Supply, plus a skater skirt in gunmetal for just $6.56 by LE3NO for Amazon. Throw on a pair of Bonnibel Madee ankle booties for $43, an x-shaped ring for $9.97 by 14th and Union, a $45 Marisota clutch and two coats of $4.99 Sally Hanson nail polish and you’re ready to go for just $167.42.
