Description:

Undefeated champion Shared Belief worked four furlongs in :47 3/5, handily, at Golden Gate Fields Sept. 23 in preparation for the Awesome Again Stakes (gr. I) at Santa Anita Park Sept. 27.

With jockey Ricardo Gonzalez aboard for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, the gelded son of Candy Ride   galloped out five furlongs in 1:01.

"It was a very good work," said Hollendorfer. "The track was a little faster today, so he went a little faster. He was really reaching out today."

Hollendorfer said Shared Belief would ship to Santa Anita the morning of Sept. 24. Hall of Famer Mike Smith will ride Shared Belief in the $300,000 Awesome Again, a 1 1/8-mile race for 3-year-olds and up that serves as a prep for the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) at Santa Anita on Nov. 1.

Shared Belief, recipient of the Eclipse Award as outstanding 2-year-old male of 2013, has won all six career starts, including four stakes, and earned $1,372,200. He was bred in Kentucky by Pam and Martin Wygod.

The gelding owned in partnership by Jungle Racing (Jim and Janet Rome), Hollendorfer, KMN Racing (Kevin and Kim Nish), Jason Litt, George Todaro, and Alex Solis II most recently won the $1 million TVG Pacific Classic (gr. I) at Del Mar on Aug. 24.
