Heat KO's Parx Program

Parx Racing in Bensalem, Pa., has canceled its July 3 racing program because of extreme heat in the region. The track is scheduled to resume racing with its July 7 card.

On tap for today's races was the Dr. James Penny Memorial Stakes (G3T), which will likely be rescheduled. The track did not list immediate plans for that race in a Tuesday release.

High temperatures forced Belmont Park to cancel its July 1 card, and both Delaware Park and Parx canceled their July 2 programs.
