Tiggy Wiggy One to Beat in Cheveley Park

Group II winners Tiggy Wiggy and Anthem Alexander, each vying for a group I breakthrough, square off for the third time Sept. 27 in the Connolly's Red Mills Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket.
Tiggy Wiggy is tabbed the 11-10 favorite in the field of 10 juvenile fillies for the six-furlong test after smashing the York course record for the distance in the Pinsent Masons Lowther Stakes (Eng-II) Aug. 21. She won by a comfortable 1 1/2 lengths in 1:08.90. Anthem Alexander, pegged at 9-2 for the Cheveley Park by bookmakers, finished third in that race after defeating Tiggy Wiggy by a neck in the Queen Mary Stakes (Eng-II) in June at Royal Ascot.
France-based High Celebrity (4-1) comes in off a 1 3/4-length triumph in the Prix d'Arenberg (Fr-III) Sept. 9 at Chantilly for trainer Andre Fabre. Prior to that, she was second in Newmarket's QIPCO Duchess of Cambridge Stakes (Eng-II), beaten 1 1/4 lengths by Arabian Queen, who also is entered as an outsider in the Cheveley Park.
"I was delighted with the way that she won last time and when she went over to Newmarket in July, for the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes, she ran quite green, there was no pace, and the ground was a bit soft for her," Fabre said of High Celebrity. "So it was just like a French race, which was very frustrating.
"She was beaten but not dominated by Arabian Queen that day and, with a faster pace, I would hope that we can overturn the form.
"High Celebrity is a very good, very athletic filly, who is a star in my stable. She is possibly not good enough to beat Tiggy Wiggy, but it is a prestigious race and I am confident that she will run well."
There are two fillies supplemented to the race for £16,000 ($26,016 in United States funds). Tendu (6-1), a full sister to the group winner and current leading first-season sire Showcasing, was a five-length maiden winner at Kempton Sept. 3. Terror (14-1) was a 10-length maiden winner Aug. 25 at Warwick in her only career start.
