Sirius Bids for Second Group I Win in Germany

With a breakthrough group I win two starts back, Sirius aims to add another in the Preis von Europa (Ger-I) Sept. 28 at Cologne.
The 3-year-old son of Dashing Blade captured the Preis von Berlin (Ger-I) by a half length from Berlin Berlin Aug. 10 at Hoppegarten. He then finished fifth, seven lengths behind, in the Longines Grosser Preis von Baden (Ger-I) in which Ivanhowe upset unbeaten star colt Sea The Moon.
Night Wish was third in the Preis von Baden and finished second to Ivanhowe earlier in the season in the Gerling Preis (Ger-II) at Cologne at the Preis von Europa distance. The full brother to German classic winner Night Magic will bid to halt a four-race winless streak since then.
Among other entrants, Prix du Lys (Fr-II) winner Guardini is a supplementary entrant; Wild Chief seeks a first stakes win after creditable classic performances earlier this year in France and Germany; Girolamo tries for a second win in the race after capturing the 2012 edition; Empoli, fourth in the Dubai Sheema Classic (UAE-I) in March, bids for a first win in six starts this season; and 2013 Grosser Preis von Berlin victress Nympheaalso is looking for her first win this year.
