Eight horses, including grade 1 winner Wake Forest, have been added to the Fasig-Tipton July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale scheduled for July 9 in Lexington.

The new entries for the sale that begins at 4 p.m. and precedes The July Sale, Fasig-Tipton's selected yearling sale July 10, brings the total cataloged to 173. Entries for the horses of racing age sale will be accepted until sale time.

Wake Forest, a German-bred son of Sir Percy, is consigned as Hip 566 by ELiTE Sales, agent, last year's leading vendor at the horses of racing age sale with 11 of 12 sold for $2,799,000.

Wake Forest, an 8-year-old horse recently trained by Chad Brown, has won or placed in 15 of 24 starts, with earnings of $943,691, while being campaigned in the U.S., Canada, France, Italy, and Germany. Included among his victories were the 2016 Man o' War Stakes (G1T) and 2017 Mac Diarmida Stakes (G2T), with two group 3 wins in Germany. From three outings this year, the horse finished second in an allowance turf test at Aqueduct Racetrack.

"We vetted him and he vets completely clean," ELiTE Sales' Bradley Weisbord said, adding that he and business partner Liz Crow have had pre-sale radiographic exams performed on all the horses in this year's horses of racing age consignment. "For an older horse, he would vet as clean as any horse in our group. Also, he is a grade 1 winner who hasn't been gelded, so he is a racing or stallion prospect.

"He's still running competitively, with an 8 1/2 Ragozin and 92 Beyer Figure in his last race, and those would win stakes all over the country. He's a dual-purpose horse for someone to race or to breed. For someone shopping for a stallion in a regional market, it's a good opportunity to pick one up at a public auction."

Also added to the ELiTE consignment is Starving Artist (Hip 570), a 3-year-old stakes-placed daughter of Paynter  who is out of the stakes-winning Mizzen Mast  mare Salary Drive, a half sister to multiple stakes winner Jersey Giant.

Another added to the catalog is Alternative Route (Hip 572), winner of the Rushaway Stakes, consigned by Taylor Made, agent for Spendthrift Farm and Town & Country Racing. The 3-year-old colt by Tiznow  is a half brother to Canadian grade 3 winner Enstone and is out of the unraced Storm Cat mare La Suena, a half sister to grade 1 winner Forest Secrets and to grade 3 winner Rumor Has It.

WinStar Racing has added Spice It Up, a 2-year-old Super Saver  filly who broke her maiden in her career debut June 26, as Hip 573. She is out of the winning Street Cry mare Satyana and her third dam is grade 1 winner Cara Rafaela, the dam of champion and leading sire Bernardini .

Others in the latest group of horses of racing age sale supplements are two added to the Ballysax Bloodstock consignment.

Caroline the Great (Hip 595) is a 3-year-old stakes-placed daughter of Into Mischief  out of the Tiznow  mare Tizn't Caught. Her second dam, Catch the Thrill, was a champion in Canada.

Breaking Beauty (Hip 568) is a 3-year-old winning daughter of Into Mischief produced from the multiple German group 2 winner Que Belle, also the dam of grade/group 3 winners Osidy and Quetsche.

Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent for Fox Hill Farm, has added Forever (Hip 571), a 3-year-old Medaglia d'Oro  filly out of the Bernardini  mare Painosa, a half sister to grade 1 winner A. P. Adventure.

Added to the Mill Iron Sales consignment is War Bridle (Hip 567), a 2-year-old colt who set a Belterra Park track record of 4 1/2 furlongs in :53.20 when breaking his maiden June 29. From the first crop of Shakin It Up , the colt is out of Moonshine Bertie, a half sister to stakes winner Ballad of Bertie out of grade 3 winner Thunder Bertie.
