Chuchuluco Gives Juarez Milestone Win

New Mexico-based jockey Alfredo Juarez Jr. secured the 2,000th victory of his career Sunday, Sept. 22 at Zia Park when he guided Chuchuluco to a front-running victory in the eighth race.
Sent off as the 7-5 favorite in the allowance-optional claiming race, Chuchuluco and Juarez led at every call on their way to a clear victory. West Texas Racing Partners' Chuchuluco, a 6-year-old Devon Lane gelding, completed the five-furlong test in :56.88.
During his career Juarez has registered graded stakes wins aboard Rumsonontheriver and Trial by Jury in successful ventures at Arlington Park, Lone Star Park, and Turf Paradise. In the Chicago area, Juarez rode eventual Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner War Emblem to two victories, including his career debut score at Arlington.
