Stonestreet Farm owner Barbara R. Banke and prominent horseman Ben Haggin have been chosen as the newest members of Keeneland's advisory board of directors.

Banke and Haggin will begin their service at the advisory board meeting held this fall. The Keeneland board meets semi-annually during the track's April and October race meetings and represents a cross section of individuals vital to the Thoroughbred industry, as well as the entire community.

"Barbara and Ben bring a wealth of business and industry experience to the board, and we thank them for agreeing to serve," Keeneland president and CEO Bill Thomason said.

Banke, together with her husband, the late Jess Jackson, established Stonestreet Farm near Versailles, Ky., in 2005. A leading commercial breeding operation, Stonestreet Farm has to date produced the winners of 20 graded stakes. Stonestreet Stables campaigned 2007-2008 Horse of the Year Curlin  , 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra, and homebred 2011 champion filly My Miss Aurelia.

Haggin, the fourth generation of his family to serve Keeneland, is managing partner of Woodford Racing. Haggin has experience in nearly every facet of the Thoroughbred industry, having worked for Mill Ridge Farm, Hall of Fame trainer Ron McAnally, Equibase Co., and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association. Haggin and his wife, Mary Wis, live in Lexington with their son.
