True Valour, who finished seventh in the July 22 Eddie Read Stakes (G2T) at Del Mar in his stateside debut, will stay in the United States to race and will switch from trainer Johnny Murtagh to Simon Callaghan.

Winner of the Ballycorus Stakes (G3) at Leopardstown before tackling Sunday's $250,000 turf contest, Qatar Racing's True Valour did not see out the 1 1/8-mile trip but still ran well in defeat, according to Murtagh.

"True Valour ran well in seventh and Jamie (Spencer) said the last furlong was probably a little far for him," Murtagh said. "Going back to a mile will suit him. He's come out of the race really well and I've just been down to see him this morning."

Murtagh added: "He's going to stay out here to be trained by Simon Callaghan. There's a big race over a mile in about (four) weeks (the Aug. 19 Del Mar Mile, G2T) here so hopefully he can run well in that."

True Valour, by Kodiac, may have been out of luck on the night, but there was joy for another ex-European as Double Touch, formerly trained by Richard Fahey, held off a late surge from Bombard to secure the Wickerr Stakes for trainer Dan Blacker.
