Dream Awhile wins the Eatontown Stakes at Monmouth Park

After securing her first graded stakes win in June at Monmouth Park, Joseph Allen's Dream Awhile will return to the Oceanport, N.J., track July 29 in search of more success when she starts in the $100,000 WinStar Matchmaker Stakes (G3T).

The 1 1/8-mile turf race for fillies and mares also carries $50,000 in stallion seasons that will be awarded to the top three finishers for WinStar stallions Exaggerator , Commissioner , and Tourist .

Conditioned by champion trainer Chad Brown, consistent Dream Awhile enters Sunday's race off a three-quarter-length victory in the 1 1/16-mile Eatontown Stakes (G3T) June 30 on the same course. The 4-year-old War Front  filly has placed in all five of her United States starts, including closing out last season with a victory in the Tropical Park Oaks on the Gulfstream Park turf.

After her win last out, Dream Awhile was shipped to Belmont Park for a pair of works ahead of Sunday's test. She most recently breezed four furlongs July 21 in :49.25.

Brown also will send out grade 3 winner Elysea's World, who finished third in the Eatontown. Sunday's expected field of eight includes the runner-up from the Eatontown, Emory Hamilton's Special Event, who will break from the outside for trainer Shug McGaughey.

The other key race going into Sunday's test was the Miss Liberty Stakes June 9 on the Monmouth turf, where Lift Up secured her first stakes win and fifth victory in her past six starts. Trained by Michael Dickinson, Augustin Stable's Lift Up rallied from sixth to win the Miss Liberty.

Besides Lift Up, a daughter of Ghostzapper , Sunday's field also has attracted the runner-up, Viva Vegas (who then ran fourth in the Eatontown), and third-place finisher Party Boat.

Also in Sunday's field are Con Te Partiro, a 2017 stakes winner at Royal Ascot, and stakes winner Broken Bridle.

The open counterpart on Sunday's card is the $100,000 Oceanport Stakes (G3T), which features grade 1 winner Force the Pass, grade 2 winner Synchrony, and grade 3 winner Irish Strait.
