Awesome Debate won her first start by two lengths

Charlton Baker's homebred Awesome Debate became the first winner for Rockridge Stud's freshman sire Honorable Dillon  July 23 at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack, where the juvenile filly won her first start by two lengths.

Baker, who is both owner and trainer, bred Awesome Debate out of the winning Freud  mare Healthy Debate. The New York-bred filly is the third winner produced by Healthy Debate from as many foals to race. The mare has a yearling colt by Honorable Dillon and delivered a colt by War Dancer  in May.

Honorable Dillon was represented by both a win and a place in the five-furlong maiden special weight at Finger Lakes because his daughter and first-time starter Honorable Rose finished third for owner/trainer Jeremiah Englehart.

Bred in Kentucky by Robert Trussell, trainer Eddie Kenneally bought Honorable Dillon for $100,000 at the 2012 Fasig-Tipton Florida Select 2-year-olds in Training Sale for owner Joseph Bucci. The colt won two of his first four starts, which included the grade 2 Hutcheson Stakes at Gulfstream Park where finished a half-length in front of Forty Tales and Undrafted. He retired with a 3-2-1 record out of 15 starts and earned $233,649.

The 8-year-old son of Tapit  is already runner-up on the New York freshman sire list. He stands at Rockridge Stud for $5,000.
