Integral Controls Pace for Sun Chariot Win

Runner-up in last year's race, Cheveley Park Stud's Integral dominated in this year's Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes (Eng-I) Oct. 4 at Newmarket, leading all the way to victory.
Integral raced along at a moderate clip under Ryan Moore and eagerly picked up on cue a quarter-mile out, comfortably holding off Miss France and Fintry, all sent off 7/2 co-favorites in the one-mile race.
Integral won by one length from Miss France, who overtook Fintry for second by a neck in the closing stages, with Esoterique 1 1/2 lengths back in fourth. Last year's race winner, Sky Lantern, checked in sixth in the seven-horse field after weakening in the final furlong.
Integral covered the distance in 1:37.52 on turf rated good to firm.
Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, Integral has finished in the top three in four previous starts this season, posting back-to-back wins in the QIPCO Falmouth Stakes (Eng-I) July 11 at Newmarket and winning the Duke of Cambridge Stakes (Eng-II) in June at Royal Ascot. In her prior start, she was third behind Esoterique and Miss France in the Prix Rothschild (Fr-I) Aug. 3 at Deauville. Neither was a threat to the winner in the Sun Chariot.
"She is a very good filly, she won well at Royal Ascot and was impressive in the Falmouth but she was all wrong at Deauville," Moore told England's Press Association. "We have always thought very highly of her and she confirmed that today."
Cheveley Park Stud bred Integral, a daughter of Dalakhani, from group I winner Echelon.
Stoute indicated that Integral's only possible start before the end of the season would be the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (Eng-I) on QICPO British Champions Day Oct. 18 at Ascot. The filly is to remain in training in 2015.
