Quality Rocks, winner of the Sept. 6 Arlington-Washington Lassie in her most recent start, will put her undefeated streak on the line Oct. 8 in the $150,000 JPMorgan Chase Jessamine Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Keeneland.
The Jessamine is a Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" event for the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (gr. IT), to be run Oct. 31 at Santa Anita Park.
Nine 2-year-old fillies will head postward in the 1 1/16-mile turf event, carded as the eighth on Wednesday's nine-race program with an approximate post time of 4:42 p.m. EDT.
Trained by Bill Mott, Quality Rocks will be making her grass debut for owners Destiny Oaks of Ocala, Wachtel Stable, and Brous Stable following a first-out maiden victory over an all-weather surface at Presque Isle Downs and then the Polytrack victory at Arlington in the listed stakes. Jose Lezcano has the mount from post 4.
Also in the field are two fillies that won their turf debuts debuts on turf.
Gary Biszantz and Gary Vandeweghe's Fila Primera won going a mile at Belmont Park on Sept. 7. Trained by Chad Brown, the daughter of War Front will be ridden by Javier Castellano from the 3 hole.
Ken and Sarah Ramsey's Walking the Kitten won going a mile on Sept. 17 at Kentucky Downs. Trained by Mike Maker, the Kitten's Joy filly will have Rosie Napravnik in the irons from post 8.
