Waya, Lure Stakes Rescheduled Due to Weather

Overnight rainfall of 2.3 inches has forced the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) to cancel the final two races of the Aug. 4 card at Saratoga Race Course. The $100,000 Fasig-Tipton Lure Stakes has been rescheduled for Aug. 11. The grade 3, $200,000 Fasig-Tipton Waya Stakes as been rescheduled for Aug. 12. 

As a result of the cancellations, New York State Gaming Commission rules require NYRA to cancel multi race wagers, including: the NYRA Bets Late Pick 5; Grand Slam; the Late Pick 4; Pick 3s scheduled to begin in Race 8 and Race 9; and the Daily Double beginning in Race 9. All pools in Race 10 and Race 11 have been cancelled. 

Saturday's live racing program from Saratoga Race Course will conclude with the 91st running of the $1.2 million Whitney Stakes (G1) with an approximate post time of 5:46 p.m.

The 2018 summer meet at Saratoga continues through Sept. 3.
