Olympic Glory came with a devastating last-to-first rally on the outside to win the Qatar Prix de la Foret (Fr-I) Oct. 5 at Longchamp.
The 4-year-old son of Choisir won by two lengths from Gordon Lord Byron, who took the race in 2012 and was second last year. Noozhoh Canarias was a head back in third.
The victory was the second on the card for owner Sheikh Joann Al Thani's Al Shaqab Racing, which captured the weekend's marquee event, the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I) one race earlier with Treve.
Olympic Glory covered 1,400 meters (about seven furlongs) in 1:17.73 on good turf. He came in off a third in the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques Le Marois (Fr-I) after winning the JLT Lockinge (Eng-I) in May at Newbury. He added a fourth group I win to his record that also includes the 2013 QIPCO Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot and 2012 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp.
Sunday's win takes Olympic Glory's overall record to 8-3-1 record from 15 career starts. He also earned a fees-paid, automatic berth in the $2 million Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) Nov. 1 at Santa Anita Park. The colt was unplaced behind Wise Dan in last year's edition of the race.
Olympic Glory was bred in Ireland by Denis McDonnell out of the winning Alzao mare Acidanthera. As a 2-year-old, he provided Sheikh Joaan his first win at the highest level when capturing the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere on Arc day.
