The Breeders’ Cup is the World Championships of horse racing, and as such it’s the time when a lot of fans love to flaunt their strongest fashion at the track. Below, I’ve taken some of autumn’s biggest trends from the runways and shown you how to incorporate them into your Breeders’ Cup look on any budget.
The first trend we’ll take a look at is the predominance of orange at Fashion Weeks around the globe. From Preen to Dries Van Noten, Moschino to DKNY, orange swept runways and red carpets for fall 2014. Here are ways to wear the color to the Breeders’ Cup on any budget.

If you’re going to splurge, this blood orange dress from Viktor & Rolf is a great way to do it for $306. The thin-strap sandals from Stuart Weitzman are $398 and a great way to stay on-trend in the warm LA autumn, and I added a stunning fascinator for $384 from Boticca. A silver quilted Designinverso shoulder bag ($195) plus a $356 Citizen watch and some beautiful black pearls for $460 from Allurez accessorize without distracting; and finish everything off with a pair of $250 Philip Lim cat-eye sunglasses. This look comes together for $1889 – hopefully won back at the windows with one clever bet!

I love the structure of this $68 dress from Front Row Shop – it actually incorporates another huge fall trend, the A-line shape. Add the show-stopping Rachel Roy heels for $106 and a beautiful lavender handbag for $103 from Charles and Keith, and top it off with a Camilla shantung fascinator for $68 from Accessorize. Classic gold jewelry is the perfect way to finish the ensemble; I chose a pair of feminine floral earrings for just $13 from ModCloth and a $48 cuff from BCBG. All together, this outfit comes to $406, and it will take you from the Breeders’ Cup to cocktail parties throughout the fall and winter.

The darts on this $24 TopShop dress make it stand apart from the crowd, and I love the contrast of cobalt in the form of the fascinator ($49, Accessorize) and the purse ($30, BocyCentral.) Gold heels at $50 from Shoe Republic keep things from getting too matchy, and the $19 bangles set is a great way to accessorize. A pair of killer sunglasses ($40, Nasty Gal) finishes the look, brining the entire outfit to an affordable $212.
