According to the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings through Oct. 5, Just a Way, a group I winner in Japan this season, is the top ranked horse in the world with a rating of 130.
The top two U.S.-based horses in the poll tied for eighth, dual classic winner California Chrome and recently retired Game On Dude, a multiple grade I winner in his career. Undefeated multiple grade I winner Shared Belief and two-time Horse of the Year Wise Dan, the top two horses in the most recent National Thoroughbred Racing Association's poll of top North American horses, did not crack the Longines top 10.
After Just a Way in the world rankings, four horses were tied for second—Australia, Kingman, The Grey Gatsby, and recently retired Variety Club.
