Description:

Five-time Olympic skiing champion Bode Miller plans to follow his friend, Hall of Fame member Bob Baffert, into the training ranks when he retires.

In an interview with Graham Bensinger, host of the syndicated sports show "In Depth with Graham Bensinger," Miller said he was in the process of purchasing property near Lexington that has a horse training facility.

Miller, 36, has been a regular attendee at major horse races with Baffert, who named his youngest son Bode. Baffert also trained Bodemeister  , winner of the 2012 Arkansas Derby (gr. I) who finished second in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) and Preakness Stakes (gr. I).

"(Bob Baffert), before he even knew you, named his son Bode because of how big of a ski-racing fan he is. I understand you co-own a couple horses with him. Plans for that?" asked Bensinger.

"Yeah, I mean, that's gonna be my career after skiing," Miller said. "I'm going to Baltimore and then to Lexington to kinda' finalize the last steps of buying a horse property there that has the training facility that I want, and do some modifications. It's what I've wanted to do for a long time. We're at the 'go' point right now. So it's pretty exciting."

Also in the interview Miller did not commit to the 2018 Winter Olympics.

"I'd be 40. You knowhealth, family issues, business," Miller told Bensinger. "I already juggle a lot of different things as it is, and skiing is not one of those things that you can take lightly."
