All-sources handle for the Aug. 25 Travers Day card at Saratoga Race Course broke the previous record set in 2015 by 4.9% while on-track handle increased over 2017, according to the New York Racing Association.
Highlighted by Catholic Boy's victory in the 149th running of the $1.25 million Runhappy Travers Stakes (G1), the 13-race card generated all-sources handle of $52,086,597.
All-sources handle, which exceeded the $50 million mark on Travers Day for the first time, surpassed the 2017 all-sources number by 8.8%.
On-track handle from a reported attendance of 49,418 was $11,466,264, an increase of 5.6% over last year's numbers.
