The final opportunity to nominate weanlings of 2014 to the Breeders' Cup program for a one-time fee of $400 comes at 11:59 p.m. EDT Oct. 15, Breeders' Cup said.
The $400 nomination entitles all foals with lifetime eligibility to the Breeders' Cup World Championships and the Breeders' Cup racing program. All foals sired by a fully nominated North American Breeders' Cup stallions are eligible for nomination to the Breeders' Cup program in their year of birth.
Breeders' Cup foal nominators earn $10,000 for every victory in a Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" race and are also eligible to win nominator awards in every World Championships race if the nominated horse places first through fourth. The individual nominating the foal receives awards even though the horse may change hands throughout its racing career.
Since 1984 Breeders' Cup has allocated purses and awards in excess of $650 million to owners, foal nominators, and stallion nominators.
