Fairmount Park-based trainer Scott Becker landed the 1,000th victory of his career when D' Rapper won the sixth race Aug. 28 at this home track.
Becker trains horses for Fairmount owner William Stiritz. Stiritz's D' Rapper completed Tuesday's six-furlong allowance race in 1:11.73 under jockey Victor Santiago to secure a 5 1/4-length win as the 1-2 favorite.
Since beginning to train horses in 2009, Becker's stable has earned more than $1 million in purses each full season and has nearly reached that figure this year. He has captured three graded stakes, taking the 2015 Arlington-Washington Futurity (G3) with Shogood, the 2013 Hanshin Cup Stakes (G3) with Hogy, and the 2009 Hawthorne Derby (G3) with Proceed Bee.
Through Tuesday, Becker had a record of 1,000-661-551 from 3,985 starts and purse earnings of more than $17.1 million.
