Cambodia and jockey Drayden Van Dyke win the Yellow Ribbon Handicap at Del Mar

A year ago, Cambodia won the Yellow Ribbon Handicap (G2T) and John C. Mabee Stakes (G2T). With the 1 1/16-mile Yellow Ribbon already secured Aug. 4, Cambodia will try to complete another double-stakes summer Sept. 1 in the $200,000 John C. Mabee at 1 1/8 miles at Del Mar

"I don't see any reason why she can't," said jockey Drayden Van Dyke, who has been aboard for six of the past seven starts for the 6-year-old daughter of War Front . "She felt strong at the end of the Yellow Ribbon, and we know she loves it here."

The meet-leading rider entered the final week of the meeting with nine stakes victories.

Trained by Tom Proctor for Winter Quarter Farm, Cambodia was made the 5-2 morning-line favorite in Saturday's field of 12 older fillies and mares. The bay mare has three wins in five starts at Del Mar, her only losses coming when she finished third in the $2 million Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1T) followed by a fourth-place run in the Matriarch Stakes (G1T) during the 2017 Bing Crosby Fall Meeting.

The 7-2 second choice Saturday is Vasilika. The Jerry Hollendorfer trainee has six wins in seven starts this year, including a career-long five-race winning streak that will be on the line. It will be the first race in graded company and the second start at Del Mar for the 4-year-old daughter of Skipshot  who enters off a July 21 win in a one-mile optional-claiming allowance race.

Bran Jam Stable and David W. Clark's Fahan Mura will also be making her second start on the Del Mar turf. After having a four-race win streak snapped when she finished sixth in the New York Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets (G2T) at Belmont Park, the daughter of English Channel  bounced back in her West Coast return next out, winning the Osunitas Stakes by a comfortable 1 3/4 lengths.

Undefeated in five starts on the turf in Southern California, Fahan Mura will break from post 5 with jockey Edwin Maldonado in the irons.
