Rosalind, Daring Dancer Head Valley View

Description:

Landaluce Educe Stables' Rosalind, dead-heat winner of this spring's Central Bank Ashland (gr. I) on the old Keeneland Polytrack for trainer Kenny McPeek, and Sagamore Farm's Daring Dancer, winner of the Appalachian (gr. IIIT) this spring on grass, head an overflow field of 14 plus two also-eligibles in the 24th running of the $150,000 Pin Oak Valley View (gr. IIIT) slated for Oct. 17.

The Pin Oak Valley View, for 3-year-old fillies going 1 1/16 miles on the grass, is the ninth race on Friday's 10-race program with an approximate post time of 5:13 p.m. EDT.

Rosalind will be making her first start since finishing ninth in the $1 million Belmont Oaks Invitational (gr. IT) on July 5 at Belmont Park. Chris Landeros has the mount on the Broken Vow   filly, who will break from post 4.

Daring Dancer, who also won the Lake George (gr. IIT) this summer at Saratoga Race Course, was invited to the Oct. 11 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Presented by Lane's End (gr. IT), but was scratched out of the race by trainer Graham Motion because of the soft turf conditions.

Sixth in her most recent start in the Sept. 13 Sands Point (gr. IIT) at Belmont, the Maryland-bred Empire Maker filly will break from post 12 under Joe Rocco Jr. She shares high weight of 122 pounds with group III winner Goldy Espony, who departs the 9 hole with Alan Garcia in the irons. Goldy Espony is taking a drop down from the July 5 Belmont Oaks Invitational, where she finished sixth last time out for Swift Thoroughbreds, Bradley Thoroughbreds, and trainer Chad Brown.

Other runners of interest include Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider's Size, who makes her turf debut for Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott from post 3, and Token of Love, making her U.S. debut under Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez—who swept four of six grade I stakes at the current fall meet. Dogwood Stable's Riskaverse Stakes winner Miss Frost, who comes in on a three-race win streak for trainer Tom Albertrani, could also figure.

Completing the field are Edgewood Stakes winner A Little Bit Sassy, allowance winners Spring Included, V V Goodnight, Stellaris, and Sparkling Review, and maiden winners Fashion Fund and Sumba Sunset.

Share the Sugar and Valseuse are also-eligibles.
