Using the latest cutting-edge technology to further enhance the overall experience for horseplayers and racing fans alike, the New York Racing Association announced that starting Saturday, Oct. 18, visitors to NYRA.com will be offered a special, two-day sneak preview of new, HD video capabilities.
NYRA.com viewers will be able to select from unique camera angles on and off the track. These include:
—Program Feed: The regularly-produced NYRA video feed in HD.
—Head-On Feed: Provides a head-on view during the entire race
—Stretch Camera: Shows the length of the main track stretch. This can be used for viewing morning workouts.
—Finish Line Camera: Shows the perspective from the inside rail at the finish line looking up the stretch on the main track. This can be used for viewing morning workouts.
—Paddock Camera: Shows activity in the paddock leading up to the races.
"Our new, innovative and groundbreaking HD platform was developed with our guests in mind, with a goal of further enhancing their overall experience on and off the track," said New York Racing Association president Christopher Kay. "After spending millions to enhance the guest experience for those visiting our racetracks, we are also spending similar sums to enhance the experience for all our fans that connect with us through their phones, tablets and computers. Combined with this summer's launch of our HD app, horseplayers and fans now have the newest, most-cutting edge digital tools available anywhere within the Thoroughbred racing industry."
The new video features impressed Blood-Horse writer Frank Angst.
The new HD page, which will also include a live Twitter feed of New York Racing Associated-related content, is anticipated to be widely available later this fall.
