Description:

Qatar Racing's Peace and War, winner of the Darley Alcibiades (gr. I), has been injured and will not run in the $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) at Santa Anita Park Nov. 1.

According to a release from Robins Farm Racing of trainer Olly Stevens, Peace and War sustained "a very slight tear of the tiny XYZ ligament at the base of her fetlock that will prevent her participation in the Breeders' Cup."

The 2-year-old War Front   filly won the Alcibiades at Keeneland Oct. 3 in sparkling come-from-behind fashion in her U.S. debut.

"(The injury) is tiny, however we strongly feel that Peace and War has a very exciting year next year with a great program that could include (some of but not all of) the Ashland, the Kentucky Oaks, the Coaching Club Oaks, the Alabama, the Spinster (all gr. I), and even another tilt at the Breeders' Cup."

The Central Bank Ashland (gr. I) is run in the spring at Keeneland and the Juddmonte Spinster (gr. I) is at the Lexington oval in the fall.

For the time being, Peace and War will stay at WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky., before returning to England.
