Looking Cool, an 8-year-old, grade 3-winning son of leading U.S. sire Candy Ride , has been relocated from Indiana to Cedar Brook Farm near West Union, Ohio.

Owned by M.C. Roberts, the stallion was to capitalize on an improving Ohio-bred program, according to Ed Crothers, who owns Cedar Brook with his wife, Angie.

"No question the program here is moving up and now is the time to take advantage of it," Crothers said.

Looking Cool was campaigned by owner/breeder Jim Tafel. At 3 he placed second in the Northern Spur Stakes and two races later he won the Iowa Derby (G3). He raced until he was 6 and compiled a 7-5-3 record in 38 starts with earnings totaling $441,918. He entered stud this year at Indy Dancers Training Center near Mooresville.

Tafel is the architect of Looking Cool's immediate family, as the breeder of the stallion's first three dams. Looking Cool's dam, Coolwind, is a daughter of Forest Wildcat and a multiple graded-placed black-type winner of more than $283,000. Coolwind set a track record at Arlington International Racecourse when she won a 7 1/2-furlong allowance optional claiming race in 1:30.97.

Coolwind is the most successful runner produced by the Gone West mare Scoop, who was a grade 3 winner, and Scoop, in turn, was the most successful runner out of her dam Til Forbid, a grade 3 winner who placed in four grade 1 races, including the Kentucky Oaks.

Looking Cool will stand for $2,000 in 2019.
