Abel Tasman Top Female in Latest NTRA Poll

Following Monomoy Girl's Cotillion Stakes (G1) Sept. 22 at Parx Racing, where she finished first but was disqualified to second behind Midnight Bisou, Abel Tasman moved into the best spot of any female in the NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll.

Abel Tasman, last year's champion 3-year-old filly, moved from fifth to fourth in this week's NTRA Top 10 Thoroughbred Poll. Three-year-old filly Monomoy Girl, a winner of four grade 1 races this season, dropped to fifth.

Monomoy Girl and Abel Tasman are expected to square off in the $2 million Breeders' Cup Longines Distaff (G1) Nov. 3 at Churchill Downs. 

Accelerate , expected to make his final start before the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) in the Awesome Again Stakes (G1) Sept. 29 at Santa Anita Park, retained the top position in this week's NTRA poll for the sixth consecutive week. 

The only other change in this week's Top 10 Poll involved Catalina Cruiser (eighth) and Sistercharlie (ninth) swapping positions from last week. McKinzie, off his Pennsylvania Derby (G1) victory Sept. 22, is the top horse among "others receiving votes."
