Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens and Chantal Sutherland-Kruse, a two-time Sovereign Award winner in her native Canada, take America's Best Racing's readers inside the jockeys' room in 2014. Stevens and Sutherland-Kruse will provide answers to all sorts of questions such as how jockeys get paid, what goes on between races, whom they admire and what type of music and fashion style they favor.
In this edition of Inside the Jockeys' Room we find out Sutherland-Kruse's favorite racetrack and what breed of dog she compares to a Thoroughbred.
What’s your favorite racetrack and why?
SUTHERLAND-KRUSE: Del Mar and Woodbine are my favorite racetracks. Having said that I love many more tracks too and those are just the top two.

SUTHERLAND-KRUSE: My grandma and ask her why?
My least favorite thing about my morning routine is?

Roller-coaster or haunted house?
SUTHERLAND-KRUSE: Roller-coaster
Favorite town/city in the world?
SUTHERLAND-KRUSE: Shopping in Hong Kong with Rebecca.
How often do you workout, and what’s your favorite go-to exercise for staying in shape?
SUTHERLAND-KRUSE: Six to seven days a week. … I love Pilates and yoga and running right now. I love all three in one day … run first, Pilates and yoga to cool down.
Why is winning the Triple Crown become so difficult? Can it be done?
SUTHERLAND-KRUSE: It’s too demanding on a horse … yes, it can be done … maybe, maybe not and why push an animal for this?
Horse racing is cool because … ?
SUTHERLAND-KRUSE: Horse racing is cool because most Thoroughbreds love to run … like a Jack Russell … good luck to you if you don’t exercise them.
How many friends do you keep in touch with from childhood? High school?
SUTHERLAND-KRUSE: Sadly, only one – Rebecca. She rocks … makes up for it I guess.

If you could switch roles for one day with any other professional athlete, who would you switch with and what would you do?
SUTHERLAND-KRUSE: Michael Jordan, so I could fly, or Wayne Gretzky, so I could score every time I took a shot.
If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
SUTHERLAND-KRUSE: Thor ... with my hammer I could do anything. Hammer a few peeps that have hammered me and protect people. Kidding.
