Trainer Kevin Ryan said East will ship for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Churchill Downs

Less than a fortnight after making a winning debut at Hamilton, East posted an impressive success Oct. 5 in the Prix Thomas Bryon Jockey Club de Turquie (G3) at Saint-Cloud, leaving trainer Kevin Ryan with no hesitation as to where her next run would be.

"She will go to the Breeders' Cup for the Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1T), which is exciting," said Ryan, who trains East for Rebecca Hillen's East Partners.

Having briefly been trapped behind horses when favorite Ecolo was rushed up on her outside, the daughter of Frankel soon found her rhythm when pulled to the outside by Stéphane Pasquier and pushed clear for a 2 1/2-length victory.

"She is a very good filly and very professional," the trainer added. "She got shuffled back at a vital stage, but Stéphane didn't panic. She quickened up lovely and won under hands and heels. For me she was very impressive.

"It was a quick turnaround, but she has a great constitution and she came out of the Hamilton race well. It's always a little bit of a worry, but she is very laid-back and has a big heart.

"She has everything you would want in a filly. She has a big engine and a great attitude, so we were pretty confident in running her again."
