The Meadowlands Racetrack has canceled its six-race Thoroughbred program for Friday, Oct. 24. Heavy rains have plagued coastal New Jersey and New England the past couple days forcing the cancelation of the all-turf card.
A nor'easter brought heavy rains, hail, and winds up to 50 mph through Oct. 23. Flooding in places was so bad that people had to be rescued from their cars, according to several news reports.
The Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet is tol continue in East Rutherford on Saturday, Oct. 25, with first post at 7 p.m.
