Canadian classic winner Danish Dynaformer has been retired by owner/breeder Charles Fipke and will enter stud next year at Colebrook Farms near Uxbridge, Ontario. His first-year stud fee will be CAN$2,500.
The 6-year-old son of Dynaformer had a sterling sophomore campaign that saw him finish second to Shaman Ghost in the Queen's Plate, then go on to win the Breeders' Stakes by a widening 7 3/4 lengths. At 4, Danish Dynaformer attained graded status by taking the 1 1/2-mile Singspiel Stakes (G3T). Having raced from 2 to 6, he won or placed in six black-type stakes and won half of them. His third stakes victory came in the 2015 Plate Trial Stakes. He retires with a 5-3-1 record from 26 starts and earnings of $764,645.
Danish Dynaformer is the product of a family rich in black type. His dam, Danish Wildcat, is a Danehill daughter out of champion and multiple grade 1 winner Hollywood Wildcat. Danish Wildcat is a full sister to group 1-placed, group winner Ivan Denisovich and a half sister to Breeders' Cup Mile (G1T) winner War Chant (by Danzig) and graded-placed stakes winners Minister's Wild Cat (Deputy Minister) and Double Cat (Storm Cat).
War Chant, Ivan Denisovich, and Minister's Wild Cat all went on to successful stallion careers, having collectively sired nearly 70 black-type winners worldwide, of which 44 have won graded/group stakes.
