Description:
The $237,457 New York Breeders' Futurity Stakes at Finger Lakes Casino & Racetrack Sept. 28 brings together a variety of 2-year-old state-breds led by Sanford Stakes (gr. II) winner Wired Bryan.

Anstu Farm homebred Wired Bryan is the lone graded stakes winner in a field of seven to contest the six-furlong dirt sprint, and looks to improve on his off the board finish in the Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) in his last outing.

Featured as race seven on a nine-race card, the Futurity has an approximate post time of 3:52 p.m. EDT.

Capturing his June 19 maiden special weight debut at Belmont Park in a 7 1/4-length romp, the Michael Dilger trainee next impressed in the July 21 Sanford at Saratoga Race Course, taking his first graded stakes effort by an impressive 5 1/4 lengths. Losing by a nose in his subsequent start, the grade II Saratoga Special Stakes Aug. 11, he lost momentum in the Sept. 2 Hopeful and finished fifth on a muddy track.

Wired Bryan, also entered in the $200,000 Futurity Stakes (gr. II) at Belmont Park Sept. 29, drew the inside rail with Jaime Rodriguez in the irons for the first time.

The only starter with a victory over the Finger Lakes track is Langpap Stables' Fox Rox, who captured his maiden in the restricted Aspirant Stakes Sept. 2 at the Futurity distance in his third start. M.A. Ferraro trains the dark bay colt by Officer who will break from post 4 with Pedro Rodriguez up.

Free Mugatu has won both of his starts to date, both at Saratoga: a maiden special weight Aug. 9 and the restricted six-furlong Law Enforcement Stakes Aug. 30. John Terranova trains the bay Utopia colt who races for Ken Green. Jose Ortiz has the call on Free Mugatu who will break from the 3-hole.

Completing the field are Stakes-placed Ogermeister, who was runner-up to Free Mugatu in the Law Enforcement last time out; maiden winner Sidearm; and maidens Blue Collar Cat and Noon Time Shower.

Noonmark   daughter Noon Time Shower, the only filly in the field, was second in her lone start, Finger Lakes' Lady Finger Stakes on Sept. 2. She will carry 119 pounds.
