The New York Racing Association (NYRA) canceled its Oct 27 Belmont Park card because of dangerously high winds associated with a strong coastal storm forecast to impact Long Island and the New York metropolitan area throughout the day.

In addition to heavy rain and coastal flooding, the National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory calling for gusts of up to 50 mph.

The Belmont Cafe and Aqueduct Racetrack will remain open for simulcasting and online wagering is available through NYRA Bets.

Live racing will resume Sunday, Oct. 28 at Belmont with a 9-race card highlighted by the $125,000 Zagora, the $100,000 Pumpkin Pie and the $100,000 Chelsey Flower. Post time Sunday, closing day of the 2018 Belmont Park Fall Championship Meet, is 12:30 p.m.

A further update will be provided regarding the rescheduling of Saturday's scheduled stakes including the grade 3, $200,000 Bold Ruler, the $100,000 English Channel, and the $100,000 Awad.
