Description:
Mark DeDomenico and North American Thoroughbred Horse Co.'s Majestic Presence galloped on the main track at Santa Anita Park under exercise rider Edgar Rodriguez Oct. 28, and her connections believe she is primed for a big effort in the 14 Hands Winery Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) Nov. 1.

Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, Majestic Presence in her last start finished fourth in the grade I Chandelier Stakes at Santa Anita behind fellow Juvenile Fillies entrants Angela Renee, Conquest Eclipse, and Danette.

Hollendorfer assistant Dan Ward said the Majestic Warrior   filly's effort in the Chandelier was pretty good for her first attempt on dirt.

"She had a bad post that day (11 in a field of 12)," Ward said. "I really liked her in there, but she had a wide trip. She made a move on the turn and flattened out a little. I think that race will help her here Saturday.

"At Del Mar, she ran one of the first route races of the meet for 2-year-olds. It was a long time between races and she may have been just a little short."

Majestic Presence broke her maiden in her second start. She captured a one-mile maiden special weight event in 1:38.61 on Polytrack.

Meanwhile, GNC Racing's Cristina's Journey continues to go about her business in preparation for the Juvenile Fillies (gr. I), and that's just fine with trainer Dale Romans.

The 2-year-old filly by Any Given Saturday   won the Pocahontas Stakes (gr. II) in September to remain undefeated in two starts and has been training well at Santa Anita Park. Cristina's Journey, who Romans describes as a filly "in a plain brown wrapper," broke her maiden at Ellis Park in Kentucky.

"She's always the same," Romans said Oct. 28. "She always goes out and does her job. She's not a 'wow' horse, although her last work was pretty 'wow.' I expect her to well."

Treadway Racing Stable's Wonder Gal, second in the Frizette Stakes (gr. I) at Belmont Park behind By the Moon, who also is entered in the Juvenile Fillies, had her final breeze for the race Oct. 27 and was calmer Oct. 28, said trainer Leah Gyarmati. The filly had worked a half-mile in :47 4/5 at Santa Anita.

"She's much more relaxed today," Gyarmati said of the filly by Tiznow  . "She jogged the wrong way this morning from the quarter-pole gap, walked to the paddock, and took a long walk around the backside. Normally, I just walk her after a breeze but this took the edge off of her."

Siena Farm's Angela Renee, by Bernardini  , was scheduled to arrive at Santa Anita the afternoon of Oct. 28. Trainer Todd Pletcher said he sees having a race on the track as an advantage.

"We always thought that with her pedigree, two turns was gonna be her game," Pletcher said. "It really looked like in the Chandelier that that was the performance we had hoped to see. Maybe it's an advantage that she's had a race over the track. We hope for a good trip from the inside post and hopefully she runs as well as she did last time or a little better."
