The last time Audible raced, he finished third in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1).
After a nearly six-month layoff, the classic-placed, Xpressbet Florida Derby (G1) winner will return to competition at Churchill Downs to face 11 rivals in the first running of the $200,000 Cherokee Run Stakes Nov. 3. The Cherokee Run, the second race on Saturday's Breeders' Cup card, is one of two non-Breeders' Cup stakes scheduled that day at Churchill, which also will offer the Chilukki Stakes (G2) to close out the day's racing as the 12th race.
Audible, who finished third behind Justify and Good Magic in the Kentucky Derby, was one of the top 3-year-old contenders following his 5 1/2-length win in the Feb. 3 Holy Bull Stakes (G2) and three-length score in the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park.
WINCZE HUGHES: Audible Makes Florida Derby Statement
Campaigned by the same ownership group as Triple Crown winner Justify in WinStar Farm, China Horse Club, Starlight Racing, and Head of Plains Partners, Audible was pulled from a possible start in the Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets (G1) in late May then freshened by trainer Todd Pletcher.
In the Chilukki, Corms Racing Stable and R. A. Hill Stable's Beldame Invitational Stakes (G1) runner-up Divine Miss Grey heads a competitive field in the one-mile race for fillies and mares.
Divine Miss Grey, a 4-year-old daughter of Divine Park, invades Kentucky from trainer Danny Gargan's East Coast base at Belmont Park. The chestnut filly scored an impressive 7 3/4-length win two starts ago in the Dr. James Penny Memorial Stakes Sept. 8 at Parx Racing. That race was taken off the turf and moved to the sloppy main track.
Chief among Divine Miss Grey's rivals in the Chilukki is California shipper Shenandoah Queen, who recently finished third in the Zenyatta Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita Park, behind Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) runners Vale Dori and La Force.
Owned by Hronis Racing and trained by John Sadler, Shenandoah Queen hopes to overcome her sixth-place finish in last year's Chilukki, her only start outside of California since she's been trained by Sadler.
Also entered in the Chilukki is Town and Country Racing's Summer Colony Stakes winner Moonlit Garden for Keeneland-based trainer Chris Davis. A three-time winner from 16 starts, Moonlit Garden scored a front running victory in the Summer Colony by 1 1/2 lengths under jockey Jose Ortiz.
